Burn Ban in Effect – Effective Immediately

As of 06/28/2017 Park County has issued a county wide burn ban until further notice.  NO outside burning is allowed on private, public, or forest service land, to include BLM and Natural Forest.  NO fireworks are allowed for the July 4th celebration because of the extreme fire danger!  To learn more on what acts are PROHIBITED go to the Burn Ban in Effect for Park County document.  For more information go to www.ParkCo.us or call 719-836-4160.

July 5, 2017 Association Meeting

The Elk Creek Highlands/Meadows Property Owners Association will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, in the Association Building located at 86 Elk Creek Drive, Bailey.  We will discuss the progress of our Firewise community projects, and the status of beaver reintroduction to our wetland area.  For more information, contact Karen Ellis at 303-514-8620, or CUNColorado@aol.com.

Next Firewise Community Work Day – June 10th

If you are interested in becoming involved, able to volunteer, or need volunteer help, please contact our ECHPOA Firewise Committee listed below.  There are already 2, possibly 3, neighborhood properties scheduled for Saturday, June 10th.  Some volunteers are planning to begin at 8 AM, while others are not able to start until 11 AM.  Please contact Paul Ellis to determine where and when you can meet up with the group.  Bring gloves and tools such as saws, rakes, and shovels.  Depending on how much help we have and how much work is needed, additional work days may be scheduled and announced later.  Current ECHPOA members will have priority.

June 7, 2017 Association Meeting – Change

Unfortunately, Jeff Ravage from CUSP will not be able to attend this month’s meeting.  However, Sherry Tippie, of the PBS Documentary – “Leave it to Beavers” has agreed to be our guest speaker!  The results of our wetland assessment and the possibility of beaver reintroduction on the association property will be discussed.  We will also discuss the success of our Firewise Community Work Day held on May 13th and begin planning for our next work day on Saturday, June 10th.  The highlights of our After Action Review from the Platte Canyon Fire Evacuation Drill held on May 20th will also be discussed.  Don’t miss this informative ECHPOA meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, in the Association Building located at 86 Elk Creek Drive, Bailey.  For more information, contact Karen Ellis at 303-514-8620, or CUNColorado@aol.com.
