  1.  ECHPOA By-Laws require that the Board of Directors be elected each year – We will be accepting nominations during our next monthly association meeting on Wednesday, December 6th, at 7 p.m., in the basement of the Association Building located at 86 Elk Creek Drive, Bailey.  You may also send me your name and contact information if you are interested or of someone you would like to nominate at CUNColorado@aol.com.
  1.  2017 annual membership and fishing permits will expire December 31st – 2018 family membership dues are $40 and optional fishing permits (with 4 badges) are $25.  Make checks payable to ECHPOA, drop in the locked box at the association building, or mail to ECHPOA, 86 Elk Creek Drive, Bailey, CO  80421.  Please include your contact information.  Membership forms are on the ECHPOA Brochure located on the About Us page (menu option above), on bulletin boards near the mail box clusters, or go to: https://echpoa.files.wordpress.com/2017/10/echpoa-brochure7.pdf.
  1.  Member business networking – We receive many calls asking for contact information of people who they can hire to help them with their property.  The Association Building has an immediate need for a shower and a clothes closet added upstairs and a half bath downstairs.  Later, when funds permit, improve the deck structure, add gutters to the roof, and replace the sinking hay barn.  Please send me your contact information, or of someone locally you would recommend, to hire as an electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, flooring, tree trimming and cutting, septic, handyman, etc., at  CUNColorado@aol.com.

Save Our Pond History

During the past few months we have received many, many questions asking what is going on with the Pond.  Most questions have come from people who are community residents, but not paid ECHPOA members, therefore have not received member emails, have not read meeting minutes, or have not reviewed articles posted on the blog. Because each phone call response takes a lot of our volunteer time, we decided to create a detail page we can start referring people to and post it on the blog that covers the history of what we have done to help Save Our Pond since late 2016.  This new page can be found by selecting the Save Our Pond History page under the Fishing Pond menu option above.

We still need your support letters and donation money to help Save Our Pond!

Suggested subjects to cover in a letter of support:

  1. Grant money would help us purchase augmentation water and bring us into compliance with state water law
  2. Help firefighters obtain water during wildfires and house fires and give the community members a safe place to shelter should the one, 8 miles, exit out to highway 285 become blocked
  3. Attract wildlife, with ecological benefits and habitat
  4. Preserve community open space, and property values

December 6, 2017 Association Meeting

The Elk Creek Highlands/Meadows Property Owners Association will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, in the basement of the Association Building located at 86 Elk Creek Drive, Bailey.  We will discuss our grant application status and the next steps we may need to take to raise enough money to pay for augmentation water, which is paying for water to be replaced back into a stream that equals the amount that has evaporated from the surface of our pond.  This would bring us into compliance with state water law and avoid being forced to drain our pond.  For more information, contact Karen Ellis at 303-514-8620, or CUNColorado@aol.com.

Thank You for the ECHPOA Save Our Pond Support!

We would like to send a special thank you to everyone listed below who sent a money donation and / or support letter to Save Our Pond!  It is because of their support that we have made it this far with our grant application to purchase augmentation water! Next step is an oral presentation next week to the Park County Board of County Commissioners.  So far we have received about 25 support letters and $2,500 in donations!  The next time you are down at the pond, enjoying what it has to offer, be sure to thank a supporter!

Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

It is time again to “fall back” by an hour in the autumn!  Remember to set your clocks “back” an hour this weekend either before you go to bed Saturday night, November 4th, or when you get up Sunday morning, November 5th.  Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.  This means you can either get an extra hour of sleep or have extra time for breakfast!

For 9 to 5 office workers, it means saying goodbye to leaving work while it is still light out!
