President Bryan Murphy called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.  Copies of the previous meeting were on the tables and a few minutes were spent allowing everyone to read them over.  Motion to accept the July minutes was made by Paul Ellis and seconded by Ted Stein.  The motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report was given by Karen Ellis.  The bank charged us a $6.00 fee claiming we were a business account after the merger.  Karen called and had the fee waived and account changed to community.  Karen will add information about membership to The Flume, the blog, and a mass email to members.  Bryan would like to charge title companies a fee when requesting information, further research is needed to verify if this is legally possible.  Motion to accept the report was made by Paul and seconded by Walt Wark.  The motion carried.

Activity Report was given by Dale Wark.   After much discussion it was decided to cancel the August 27th pot luck luncheon.   A work day was scheduled for September 24th to continue implementing the Firewise program.  Members interested in becoming Firewise should meet at the association building at 10:00 a.m.  We hope to form work crews to help each other mitigate our homes.  More information will follow.  Motion to accept the report was made by Paul and seconded by Ted.  The motion carried.

Blog Report was given by Karen.  There were 752 hits which is the second highest month ever.  She added 2 articles, 1 picture, and 1 page.  Motion to accept the report was made by Walt and seconded by Greg Clarkson.  The motion carried.

Building Report was given by Bryan.  The hallway and bathrooms will be painted by a person doing community service.  Other jobs at the corral will be added to his list.  Bryan will get the electrician to look at the outside spotlight and hang the track lighting in the kitchen.  The countertop still needs to be permanently attached.  Motion to accept the report was made by Paul and seconded by Karen.  The motion carried.

Corral Report was given by Bryan.  A fan was hung in the stalls to chase the flies.  A spray will be tried.  The 3 corral openings have been advertised.  We are looking into selling the old barn wood from the hay shed to a reclaimed wood dealer.  The hay shed is in very bad shape but we cannot take on a multi-year contract to replace it at this time.  Motion to accept the report was made by Karen and seconded by Greg.  The motion carried.

Pond Report was given by Al Cook.  The pond is doing very well.  Ken Perdew called to complain about 2 men fishing without fishing badges and parking in his driveway.  A lifesaving ring and buoy will be placed at the pond this weekend as stated in our new insurance policy.  Motion to accept the report was made by Ted and seconded by Karen.  The motion carried.

Old Business ECHPOA will not take a stand on the Board of Education recall petition.

New business Platte Canyon FD has completed a Firewise survey of our area.  The state has all that information.  Bryan would like to set up a board of directors to run the Firewise program.  Joe Burgett was able to walk several homes and express concerns on Saturday, July 30th.  IREA came out and trimmed trees by power lines near the building.  You can call Kevin (IREA) at 720-733-5751 if you have concerns with trees touching your lines.  You can also call Charlie at 303-748-1653 if you would like to pay someone to help with mitigation on your property.  EcoMetrics, LLC and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services came and spent 2 hours looking at our creek system on Tuesday, July 12th.  They will try to locate a beaver pair to relocate to the creek.
