The meeting was brought to order by President Paul Ellis at 7:06 pm.

Imara introduced guest speakers from the waveGuardTM Corporation, located in Lakewood, Colorado.  The three speakers talked about their patented Exterior Wildfire Defense System and answered many questions from those that were in attendance.  They explained how their system will activate a wave of water and fire retardant to cover your home and property when a fire has been detected.  They also discussed installation and packaging prices specifically targeted for the Bailey area.  To learn more, go to their website at http://www.waveguardco.com/.

Minutes from the previous meeting were handed out to be reviewed.  There were no additions or corrections.  Motion to accept the minutes was made by Walt Wark and seconded by Ron Swift.  The motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report – Karen Ellis went over the report and explained why the Building Remodel balance was being shown as a negative number.  Rental income had been separated from the General Fund and several large expenses for the remodel were paid.  When the shower and closet remodel is completed, the rental rate will go up, and as more income is received, the negative balance will be reduced.  Motion to accept the report was made by Imara and seconded by Sharon Alfers.  The motion carried.

Activities Report – Firewise will have another community work day later this summer.  Let Paul know if you have slash, depending on how much slash the community has in total, ECHPOA may rent the chipper and labor from the fire department by the hour, or just make arrangements to haul it to the Bailey Slash Site using a large trailer.  Victoria Brahe has found a 500 pound safe, and volunteers to build a foundation and paint it to make a bear resistant Little Free Pantry for our community.  It will soon be installed on Miners Way near the mailboxes.  Motion to accept the report was made by Walt and seconded by Karen.

Building Report – Paul stated that the remodeling project is moving along.  Jasen Nelson framed the closet.  Simon Lawson installed a new switch box and meter to bring it up to code and installed the electrical outlets for the closet.  We are waiting for the permit approval of the electric work.  Motion to accept the report was made by Helen Cook and seconded by Walt.  The motion carried.

Corral Report – Helen reported that a second gate was installed creating a double gate which makes it easier to maneuver horse trailers and water tanks on the large trailer in and out of the corral.  We currently have another family interested in bringing in another horse to fill our open spot.  Motion to accept the report was made by Karen and seconded by Felix Beall.  The motion carried.

Pond Report – Paul gave a presentation about ‘Save Our Pond’ funding to the Cutthroat Chapter Trout Unlimited (CCTU).  Unfortunately, their mission statement includes only cold water streams and not private organizations; therefore, they declined our request for grant partnership with them.  He will try and contact Colorado Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) again.  Sharon has had to speak to some youngsters about shaking the fish food dispenser.  The new second life ring and rope has been mounted at the outlet end of the pond.  Liley Fisheries will be delivering our new fish on Friday, June 8th, between 1 and 2 pm.  Motion to accept the report was made by Bill and seconded by Sharon.  The motion carried.

Old Business – Karen reminded us of the Shred-a-Thon on Saturday, June 16th from 9 am to noon at Crow Hill Insurance.  The fire in Harris Park was at the shooting range.  The range reopened the end of May.  Park County has a fire ban in place.

New Business – Karen requested and it was approved that the July meeting be canceled because it falls on the July 4th holiday.  Next meeting will be August 1st.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 8:36 pm by Walt and seconded by Sharon. The motion carried.
